Come join us for this special, monthly jazz mass.

The Jazz Masses at St. John's feature an eclectic mix of jazz and gospel-style music. The service starts at 5 pm. The congregation listens to instrumental and vocal selections (the musical prelude begins at 4:50 pm). Worshippers join in singing jazz-flavored familiar hymns and contemporary worship songs. The liturgy, created by Father Ken, follows the form of the traditional Anglican Mass, but is contemporary in wording and style. These exciting services are offered as an alternative worship experience for the regular church member, as well as a perfect opportunity for the new "seeker".

The St. John‘s Jazz Quartet (piano, bass, trumpet, and drums) is a core group of experienced, professional musicians -- all well known in the Delaware County area. Other volunteer instrumentalists sit in from time to time. There is usually a featured vocalist for each service, and singers from the Sunday morning choir are often present to lead the worship.
